Petrotechnics has been awarded a contract from Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo).

Petrotechnics has successfully completed the deployment of its electronic integrated safe system of work Sentinel PRO®, on the SNEPCo-operated, Bonga floating production storage and offloading installation (FPSO).

One of Petrotechnics largest FPSO projects to date, Bonga, which is situated 120km from the Niger Delta coast, is the height of a 12-storey high building and the equivalent of three soccer pitches long.

The company has also deployed Sentinel PRO® on other FPSOs, for a number of major operators in the North Sea and Angola, proving its depth of experience and capability.

Iain Mackay, executive vice president said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this contract by SNEPCo. Sentinel PRO® incorporates our global experience of business process and effective work activity management, resulting in tangible safety and efficiency improvements.

“For SNEPCo this will deliver improved transparency of work across its asset, enhanced communication throughout the organisation and greater efficiencies for work planning as permits and work documentation can be planned in advance, thereby increasing safety and reducing costs.”
