Fairfield Energy acquires Clipper South from Shell and Exxonmobil

Fairfield has awarded the contract for the provision of Subsea Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) Services for the Dunlin Fuel Gas pipeline project to Technip.

A robust and reliable power supply is key to the success of mature North Sea oilfields and the construction of this gas import pipeline will allow the Dunlin platform to become fully self sufficient in fuel gas leading to a much improved power generation capability. The project is expected to involve Dunlin being connected to a long term fuel gas supply via the Thistle–Don pipeline, currently operated by EnQuest PLC. The resulting improved volumes of reservoir water injection are expected to further increase oil production from the Dunlin, Osprey and Merlin Fields.

Mark McAllister, CEO, commented, "Awarding this contract to Technip is a key enabler for the delivery of the Dunlin Fuel Gas Import Project which is essential to the long term future of the Greater Dunlin Area."
