Starting January 1, 2011, Bredero Shaw FJS is the new trade name of the business unit grouping most of the former field joint and custom coating application activities of Bredero Shaw, a global provider of pipe coating solutions.

Bredero Shaw FJS offers a complete range of anti-corrosion protection and thermal insulation coatings and has introduced through the years many innovative coating systems and processes in the market. These coating systems are protecting or insulating the field joint area of pipelines, as well as a wide range of fabricated custom parts of subsea oil and gas production systems – such as bends, spools, jumpers, PLETs/PLEMs, X-mas trees, etc.

Customers are offered flexibility in terms of coating application processes – from fully automated to manual application – and equipment to better suit the specific requirements of their projects. They get support in designing and installing a wide range of coating system thicknesses and configurations to meet each project’s specific performance and installation requirements. .

Bredero Shaw FJS has two main permanent operating bases - in Ellon, Scotland and Orkanger, Norway and can also mobilize its coating equipment and teams to virtually any location required by the customer. Mobilized teams successfully completed hundreds of field joint and custom coating projects both onshore on spoolbases (for subsequent reel-lay installation) or other logistic bases, and offshore on pipelaying vessels (in S-lay and J-lay configurations)
