Viper Innovations Ltd, supplier of systems to prolong the life of control and electrical distribution equipment in the subsea and rail market sectors, has announced its successful audit and certification to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 4001:2015 and BS OHSAS 18001. These certifications represent the company’s commitment to quality, safety and environmental responsibilities.

The latest ISO 9001 standard for quality management systems, ISO 9001:2015, puts greater focus on risk-based thinking within a company and reflects the way in which modern businesses operate in a truly global economy. Neil Douglas, Managing Director from Viper says, “Viper is very much a forward looking company and ensuring we meet the latest international standards is a critical part of our business and something which our customers expect.”

ISO 9001 is the most popular and commonly used standard for quality management systems and is used to show a company’s commitment to providing products and services of a consistent standard. The 5th edition of the standard, issued in 2015, replaces the previous 2008 version and has a greater focus on risk-based thinking and increasing continuous and systematic improvement on processes within an organisation.

“To maintain ISO 9001 certification, companies are required to move to the 2015 standard by 23 September 2018,” Neil Douglas goes on to explain. “By the very nature of Viper’s business, it makes sense for us to be ahead of the game in areas that help ensure continued innovation and increased customer confidence in our solutions.”

The latest version of ISO 4001, also released in 2015, helps organisations more easily integrate their environmental management system into their core business processes. Aligned with internationally recognised best practices, BS OHSAS 18001 promotes policies, procedures and controls needed for an organisation to achieve the best possible working conditions and workplace health and safety. The standard is due to be updated next year to ISO 45001. All three standards are a core part of Viper’s business ethos to deliver the best it can for its customers and workforce and to meet its environmental and social responsibilities.

Neil Douglas concluded, “Viper will always strive to be the best at what it does. Meeting the latest international standards with strong, integrated business processes simply has to be central to this goal. We are delighted with the successful audits and certification to these ISO/OHSAS standards.”
