Proserv - ProMix systems

Proserv's Oil and Gas Sampling division has been very busy over recent months serving big service operators. The team has delivered their well known ProMix systems to several of the major international oil and gas companies and oilfield service providers in the North Sea and in Angola.

One such clients is StatoilHydro where Proserv Oil & Gas Sampling has recently delivered their third 15 liter ProMix system to their "Kristin" platform. The system takes samples on a monthly basis and is tailor made for this purpose. It is delivered with blast load cabinet requirements, several new integrated valves, gauges and also a table to better place the transfer cylinder. Our design has also been improved with several details to ensure the protect of the laboratory assistant against free hydrocarbon exposure that can appear during sample transfer.

Proserv has also delivered the second 12 liter proMix system to StatoilHydro Melkoya. This cabinet has also been delivered complete with blast load requirements. The system was supplied with a Welker inline sampler and controller mounted in the cabinet. This system also has customised instrument details. Morten Ege, a Project Engineer from Proserv Norway AS is going to Melkeoya in November this year to train the measurement operators on the system.

In June 2009 ExxonMobil FPSO Jotun A got their metering station updated by the Proserv Oil and Gas Sampling division. The Fast Loop was rebuilt and it now includes a brand new 15 liter ProMix system. The ProMix system consists of an automatic controller of the mixing process, two new samplers that are controlled by a Proserv delivered signal splitter, to raise the sampling frequency and reduce the loading time. The Fast Loop itself is improved to make sure that the flow will go as turbulent as possible upstream the samplers and the WCM. The upgrading was a huge improvement and will undoubtedly improve the reliability of the measurement results. Again the measurement personnel will be trained by Proserv technicians in order for them to do the tasks independently.
