Specialists working at Krasnodarneftegaz have discovered a new oilfield in the Krasnodar Territory — the East-Chumakovskoye field. This is the third field to be discovered at the Slavyansko-Temryuksky licensed block in the Temryuksky region. Earlier, in 2005, Krasondarneftegaz discovered the high-output Chumkovskoye field, and, in 2006, the YuMG gas condensate field.

The first well at the East-Chumakovskoye field was drilled following the results of detailed geological and geophysical research. Drilling, which was carried out by the Kradnodar branch of RN-Burenie, began in spring 2007 and was completed once tests were carried out in October.

At present, the optimal well-flow rate and reserves at the field are being determined on the basis of hydrodynamic research. Preliminary estimates show that well-flow rates could reach 120-200 tonnes of oil per day. The discovery of this field confirms the prospects for exploratory drilling in this region.
