RWE Dea in North Sea

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has granted RWE Dea Norge AS a drilling permit for well 6507/7-15 S, cf. Section 8 of the Resource Management Regulations.

Well 6507/7-15 S will be drilled from the West Alpha drilling facility in position 65°25'31.81" north and 7°05'56.11" east.

The drilling program for well 6507/7-15 S relates to the drilling of a wildcat well in production license 435. RWE Dea Norge AS is the operator with an ownership interest of 40 percent. The other licensees are Maersk Oil Norway AS (20 percent), Edison International Norway Branch (20 percent) and Norwegian Energy Company ASA (20 percent).

The area in this license consists of parts of blocks 6507/7 and 6507/8. The well will be drilled about 13 kilometers northwest of the Heidrun field and about 30 kilometers north of Åsgard.

Production license 435 was awarded in APA 2006 (February 16, 2007). This is the second well to be drilled in the license.

The permit is contingent upon the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities before commencing drilling activity.
