Senergy has established a flagship office in Edinburgh as the base for its specialist client training division, Senergy Training.

Senergy Training was set up last year to provide training courses for clients around the globe in technical areas ranging from core analysis and petrophysics to advanced drilling techniques, carbon capture and geomechanics.

Since then a series of courses have been successfully delivered, and a comprehensive programme is planned for 2009, which Senergy believes will attract over 200 international oil executives to the city.

Senergy Chief Executive Officer James McCallum said: “Our new training offering has been developed with the very specific aim of helping our clients understand and resolve the technical challenges they face by better appreciating the practices, pitfalls and ‘tricks of the trade’, so they can apply what they learn immediately in their daily working lives.”

The courses are delivered by Senergy’s team of industry recognised experts, who have practical, hands-on experience and a genuine understanding of the issues and problems that are encountered in the workplace. Their aim is to communicate skills and knowledge quickly and effectively and above all, make learning fun.

“Our courses are designed to be relevant, practical and enjoyable and can be delivered at any location in the UK or internationally. However, we hope that the oil executives who travel from all over the world to attend our courses in Edinburgh will not only benefit from the vast expertise and practical experience of our trainers, but will also enjoy networking with industry peers in one of the world’s most culturally rich and vibrant cities.”

The new office which directly overlooks the Scott Monument and offers a stunning view of Edinburgh Castle, comprises six full-time staff and in addition to being Senergy’s dedicated training facility, will also enable new and existing clients to access the company’s diverse service offering and specialist skills.

“Having a base right on the doorstep of several oil and gas exploration and production companies and the financial community will give us the opportunity to enhance our service delivery and demonstrate our diverse capability which is focused on adding value and reducing risk for our clients,” adds James McCallum.
