Sercel has confirmed the successful deployment of its new satellite-positioned DSUGPS sensor on its first commercial seismic project. Some 9,250 DSUGPS units configured in single 428XL links were deployed by Comesa to acquire a PEMEX seismic survey in southern Mexico. An additional 750 Sercel DSU3BV units were used in the marshy areas of the prospect.

As a member of the Sercel 428XL family, the DSUGPS is unique to the industry in that it incorporates all the benefits of the company’s successful DSU3 MEMS-based 3C sensor with two impressive additional advantages:

•Measurement of the sensor’s position to within less than a meter •Accurate measurement of the sensor’s azimuthal orientation Comesa said: “We are pleased to have concluded our first project in the southern region of Mexico using our DSUGPS system.
