Aberdeen-based integrated services company SKN Electrical Services (SKN) has made a series of appointments to lead the firm’s engineering services division and strengthen its technical support team.
Tom McKenna, 41, takes on the role of Engineering Director and will be responsible for overseeing engineering services, project management and sales at SKN, which specialises in providing engineering solutions in the design, supply, installation, commissioning, maintenance and inspection of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Based at SKN’s Aberdeen base in Queen’s Gardens, Mr McKenna joins SKN from Norco Group where he was director of the business’ technical and commercial divisions for two years. Prior to that, he worked for a hazardous area electrical equipment supply, maintenance and certification services provider for nine years, leading the company’s engineering section and driving its global project engineering sales.
Mr McKenna said: “SKN is an exciting, ambitious company that has grown quickly and extensively, both within the UK and overseas. I’m looking forward to being a part of its success and driving its engineering division forward to deliver a quality service to its portfolio of clients and their projects.”
SKN has also made two additional appointments to strengthen its technical support team in Aberdeen. Kamran Quraishi, 27, will take on the role of Technical Assistant whilst Leanne Rennie, 25, has been appointed as Logistics Co-ordinator.
Meriol Folkard, Commercial Director from SKN added: “Securing skilled, quality personnel, both onshore and offshore, has played an important role in SKN’s success to date, and we continue to strengthen our team and grow our business through key appointments.
“We are delighted to welcome Tom to the company. He has many years of invaluable experience in sales and project engineering management and his technical and commercial acumen will bring a fresh perspective to SKN’s way of thinking and delivering its objectives.
“In addition, Kamran and Leanne’s appointments will support our service offering, ensuring that we continue to build strong relationships with both existing, and new clients.”
