Sound Oil enters production sharing contract in Indonesia

Sound Oil, the upstream oil and gas company with assets in Italy and Indonesia, report that the Cataka-1 exploration well commenced drilling at 2300 Indonesian local time on 31 December 2011.

It is currently drilling ahead in 17 1/2" section towards the Parigi Formation limestone reservoir objective and is scheduled to take 21 days to drill.

The well will be drilled as a deviated hole to a total measured depth of 6,995 ft to target P50 gross prospective resources of 470 Bscf.
