AF Gruppen acquisition aimed at shipbuilding

Fast-growing Norwegian offshore construction and decommissioning company AF Gruppen has agreed to buy all the shares in compatriot company Aeron AS, a heating and ventilation expert.

AF Gruppen acquires a company doing NOK198 million ($40 million) a year in business, much of it international trade and energy-sector contracts.

The Aeron buy-up brings with it AFG electrical engineers and HVAC technicians and creates a Norwegian leader for the service.

“Through the agreement with Aeron, AF Gruppen will offer this type of services to the shipping industry as well,” a statement said.
