American Pollution Control Corp. (AMPOL) has partnered with Texas Workforce Solutions to successfully conduct and complete another session of Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) training.
In late 2011, AMPOL’s need for two drivers and four environmental technicians at their Nederland location led them to establish a partnership with the Orange, Texas, branch of the Southeast Texas Workforce Center’s Employer Solutions Unit.
As a result, Texas Workforce Center held two hiring events and the success of both drove AMPOL to conduct HAZWOPER training sessions at the Center’s Orange, Texas location. The session ended with the HAZWOPER certification of four Workforce attendees.
HAZWOPER training is required by OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) to conduct hazardous materials (HAZMAT) work. HAZWOPER 40-hour training is required for workers that perform activities that expose or potentially expose them to hazardous substances.
“AMPOL values the importance of education and recognizes the significance of quality training when it comes to safely completing demanding projects,” announced Kirk Headley, AMPOL CEO. “At AMPOL we are fortunate to offer high caliber in-house training to our employees and customers and we look forward to a continued partnership with the Texas Workforce Center.”
