Clough awarded US$22m pipelay contract in Thailand

Gulf of Mexico gas heavyweight Apache has signed Aussie oilfield construction outfit Clough to the engineering, procurement and fabrication of the onshore gas plant to the Reindeer Project.

Joint venture partner Santos reported the contract satisfies a condition in the gas sales deal struck with CITIC Pacific Ltd. business Sino Iron in January 2009.

Reindeer partners are developing the gas field to supply gas under sales deal from the second half of 2011. The gas is earmarked for in the Sino Iron project, a giant magnetite mining project in Western Australia.

A 105 kilometre offshore pipeline from Reindeer and a new onshore sales gas processing facility at Devil Creek round out the project. Apache will have a 55 percent of Reindeer field and its Devil Creek plant. Partner Santos will have 45 percent.
