Italian oil company Eni has given Aker Solutions the $65 million job of delivering a complete subsea production system for the Oyo field offshore Nigeria, where the oil company is seen as “fast-tracking” development.

Four subsea trees plus systems for wellhead controls, tie-ins, workovers and umbilical will start arriving in Nigeria by September 2008.

The supplier-contractor said the “pre-configured” production components cut lead times.

Subsea trees and controls will be assembled in Aker Solutions' Malaysian centre. Umbilical will be manufactured south of Oslo, Norway, with Batam, Indonesia assembling the wellhead kit..
