Drilling contractor GlobalSantaFe has reported third-quarter net income of $448.6 million, a $203 million improvement on revenues that revenues that rose $110 million year-on-year to $1.19 billion.
Company chief exec Jon Marshall called the result “outstanding”, citing record operating income from drilling, which brought in average daily revenues for all types of rigs of $185,200, over $50,000 better than a year ago.
With the Transocean merger pending, operating income was pushed 78 percent in the quarter to $501 million.
