Kazakhstan wants a “co-operator” roll for its state champion KazMunaiGas in the Kashagan oilfield consortium lead by ENI of Italy.
Those were the only demands voiced by Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov in a press conference reported on Thursday by the Financial Times. Much was expected after Kazakhstan put a halt to Kashagan citing cost overruns of 138 percent.
Short of ENI meeting Kazakh demands, “Then we have Plan B. I’ll tell you about that later,” the Times quoted Masimov as saying.
