Houston-based drilling contractor Rowan Companies, Inc. has found work with Petroleos Mexicanos, or PEMEX, for the Rowan Gorilla IV jack-up in the second quarter of 2009, a contract expected to earn $124 million for the oilfield supplier.
Matt Ralls, Rowan chief exec, said the PEMEX deal divsersified the company's global base of operations for the company fleet of 22 high-spec offshore jack-up rigs.
The company said the job would last 785 days, suggesting a day rate just shy of $158,000.
