Titz wind farm

RWE Innogy commissioned its wind farm at Titz in the north of the Rhenish mining area this week. Within just ten months, ten wind farms from plant manufacturer REpower Systems SE have been erected here, close to RWE’s Garzweiler open-cast mine. Each wind turbine stands 150 metres high overall. The wind farm has been designed for a total electric output of 20.5 megawatts.

Dr. Hans Bünting, CEO of RWE Innogy, explains: “We are thrilled to see our turbine blades turning at Titz. Our beacon project in the expansion of renewables in the Rhenish mining area is now contributing power to the grid. Our Jüchen project will add another wind farm to the mining area at the end of this year – thanks in part to the close co-operation with our RWE Power affiliate.”
