Rig contractor Seadrill will deploy its high-spec, new-build tender rig West Berani II to Angola for Chevron and a $378-million job development drilling.

The pay includes mobilization, demobilization and minor upgrades, Seadrill said in a statement Friday.

The five-year contract will run from early 2010.

“We expect to continue to grow our order backlog and earnings visibility even in today`s market,” Seadrill chief exec Alf C Thorkildsen commented.
