Siem Offshore Inc orders new vessel with Kleven Maritime-Spotlight

Norway-based oilfield construction outfit Siem Offshore has chartered out the multi-purpose offshore vessel Siem Marlin to a business of Chevron in Nigeria for $45 million.

The ROV-equipped subsea installation vessel will ply the Agbami field 70 nautical miles offshore Nigeria. The ship was only just delivered from western Norway's Kleven yard and

A separate unnamed contractor will provide the engineering, ROV and subsea installation services when a first $15 million, 12 months term of work starts this week. A new two-year contract with a one-year option comes into play as soon as the first one-year contract is up.
