Norwegian oil and gas investment company Sinvest AS has heralded the hire of the new-build jack-up drill rig Deep Driller 7 to three months of service offshore Thailand.
The contract, set to start in mid-September, is worth $18 million in revenues ahead of a possible three-month work extension.
Sinvest is understood to be owned by Aban International Norway and Aban Singapore Pte. Ltd. and is the parent company of DDI Holding and Beta Drilling. Subsidiary Beta is still understood to be on the threshold of legal proceedings, either in Norway or in Russia, over possession of its rigs.
DDI holding has ordered eight rigs, Deep Driller 1 through Deep Driller 8, and is keen to move on a rig market seen growing in the Asia-Pacific region after expanding from the Gulf of Mexico to the Persian Gulf.
