Technip and Acergy have won a contract with France-based oil company Total to develop the Pazflor oilfield in Angola's Block 17, a $1.86-billion job in water over 1,000 metres deep.
The work entails engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation for over 80 kilometres of rigid, water-injection flow-lines, conventional flexible risers and risers, plus a similar work order for 60 km of umbilical.
The umbilical will be fabricated at the plant of Angoflex, a business of Sonangol E&P and Acergy in Lobito Angola. Flowlines and subsea structures will be assembled at the Group's Angolan spool base nearby at Dande.
Acergy said its share of the earnings is $700 million for work that includes the installation of manifolds, three sub-sea separation units with associated umbilical and mooring lines for a floating production storage and offloading vessel. Acergy will also “pre-commission” all work.
Offshore installation work is due to kick off in mid-2010 with two Acergy and two Technip construction vessels.
