TNK-BP will spend $150 million over five years to put 50 refuelling station in the St. Petersburg region of Russia, a communique heralded Tuesday after company announced a first gas station in the historic northern city.
“The Saint Petersburg retail fuel market is one of the most attractive in Russia,” a statement said, adding that the company already had 1,600 petrol stops in Russia’s vastness, mostly in Moscow.
The retail moves appear in-line with actions taken by other petro-Russia players to build midstream and downstream development to keep pace with upstream moves and recoup upstream expenses.
