Topaz Engineering confirms delivery of two wind-farm support vessels

Renaissance Services subsidiary, Topaz Engineering, a UAE-based full service ship building, ship repair and engineering services company, has completed the delivery of two wind farm support vessels (WFSV) to ASP Work Boats Ltd, part of the global ASP Ship Management Group.

David Borcoski, Group MD and CEO of ASP Ship Management Group said,“Topaz Engineering has done an excellent job in completing the construction of our wind farm support vessels and delivering them within the time-frame requested. We look forward to working with ASP again in the future.”

The contract, signed on 19th September 2011 was for the design and construction of two DNV +1A1 HSLC R1 Windfarm Service Category 1Vessels. The two boats have an LOA (length overall) of 18 metres, a beam of 7.5 metres, and a lightship displacement of 43 tons. Both are powered by two Scania 700hp engines and can operate up to 150 miles offshore at cruising speeds of up to 25 knots.
