Statoil has received consent for temporary use of Volve with the Navion Europa vessel for storage of oil.
Volve is an oil field located in the southern part of the North Sea, about eight kilometres north of Sleipner Øst. The water depth in the area is approx. 80 metres.
The field was developed with the Mærsk Inspirer jack-up process and drilling facility, and Statoil has consent to use Volve with the Navion Saga vessel for storage of oil.
Navion Saga needs new anchor chains. In this connection, Navion Europa will be used as a replacement vessel for oil storage from 29 July to 15 October 2011.
