StatoilHydro has received consent to conduct exploration drilling of well 7125/4-2 (Nucula) with the mobile facility Polar Pioneer.

The well is part of production license 393 and has the following geographical coordinates:

The drilling of well 7125/4-2 will be initiated as soon as Polar Pioneer has finished the drilling operations on well 7222/11-1 (link). The plan is to commence drilling in September/October 2008. The activity has an estimated duration of 32 days.

Polar Pioneer is a Sonat/Hitachi-designed, semi-submersible drilling facility owned and operated by Transocean Offshore. The facility was built at Hitachi Zosen, Ariake, Japan. Polar Pioneer received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in May 2004.
