StatoilHydro gets permission to drill new North Sea well in PL 393

StatoilHydro - wellbore 7125/4-2,

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has granted StatoilHydro Petroleum AS a drilling permit for wellbore 7125/4-2, cf. Section 8 of the Resource Regulations.

Wellbore 7125/4-2 will be drilled from the Polar Pioneer drilling facility at position 71°32' 46.24" N and 25°00' 16.34" E.

The drilling program for wellbore 7125/4-2 relates to drilling of an appraisal well in production licence 393. StatoilHydro Petroleum AS is the operator with 30% and the partners are Eni Norge AS with 30%, BG Norge AS with 20% and Petoro AS with 20%.

Well 7125/4-2 is located 46 kilometres from the coast and the production licence consists of blocks 7124/6, 7125/4 and 7125/5. Production licence 393 was awarded in the 19th round in 2006, with Norsk Hydro Produksjon AS as operator.

Appraisal well 7125/4-2 is the second well in production licence 393.

The drilling permit is conditional on the operator securing all permits and consents required by other authorities before the drilling activity commences.
