Offshore construction outfit Subsea 7 Inc. has won an “exclusive”, five-year $60-million contract with Total in the United Kingdom for all the oil company’s inspection, repair and maintenance work in the Northern and Central sectors of the North Sea.
Subsea 7 in Aberdeen, Scotland will provide project management, engineering and other onshore and offshore support for sub-sea work which includes diving and the use of Subsea 7’s fleet of remotely operated vehicles, or ROVs.
The five years of work starts immediately and encompasses the Alwyn, Dunbar, Otter, Forvie, Nuggets, Frigg, Ellon, Grant, Jura and Elgin / Franklin fields.
“Potential” exists for work west of the Shetland Islands, the contractor said Tuesday.
The maintenance and support work is the latest in a series of Total contract awards for Norway-based suppliers (see "Total" below).
