Re‐entry operations at the Darwin #2 were successfully concluded in December 2012. A completion rig has now been mobilised to the Darwin #2 well‐site to undertake flow testing and to complete the well for production.
Darwin #2 is designed to test the Wolfberry section which exhibited strong oil shows in the adjacent Darwin #1 well.
Darwin #1
Construction of the gas pipeline to the Darwin #1 site is complete and awaiting a gas company crew to hook it up to the well. Darwin #1 is expected to commence oil production at a rate of 160 barrels of oil per day (BOPD), a level considered optimum by the project operator to maximise oil recovery from the Fusselman formation.
Sydney #1
Drilling is currently underway at Sydney #1 (operations update below). After encountering swelling shales and gravels in the shallow section of the borehole, the decision was made to run an intermediate string of casing to 731m (2,400 ft) to prevent ongoing problems in that section of the well bore.
