Heis-Tek AS, the Norwegian operation of Alimak Group, has signed an order with Statoil ASA through EPC company Aker Solutions for an explosion-proof industrial traction elevator with an order value of approximately SEK 11 million.

The explosion-proof elevator will operate in a demanding and exposed environment with low temperatures during winter time when placed at the Johan Castberg field in in the Barents Sea. Alimak Group in Norway has previously done business with Statoil ASA through a frame agreement for all lifts to Johan Sverdrup project and several other large projects in the past.

Engineering work commences in the first quarter of 2018 and the equipment will be delivered a year later.

“We have started to see some early movement within the oil and gas segment and are very pleased to deliver to Statoil ASA’s Johan Castberg field. This order confirms the renewed interest from the sector for Alimak Group’s safe, reliable and high-quality vertical access solutions and services, delivered by professionals who are close to the customer’s business and understand their needs,” says Tormod Gunleiksrud, CEO Alimak Group.
