The Muelheim-based automation specialist, Turck, introduces a new series of ultrasonic sensors that provide considerably more accurate measuring data than comparable products available. The IP67 sensors allow measuring ranges of up to three meters, and their short blind zone of only ten percent of the maximum range enables users to apply the sensor to applications in the automotive sector (glas detection), the paper industry (sag control), the pharmaceutical industry (level monitoring) and several other branches.
The reflection switches, designed by Turck’s strategic partner Banner Engineering, may be operated in environmental temperatures between -40 and +70 °C, and optional Teflon-coated sound converter faces and mounting flanges allow operation even in harshest environments. The integrated temperature compensation reduces temperature-inflicted measurement errors by 90 percent and allows users to operate the sensor in highly fluctuating environmental temperatures.
Different output configurations (analog, digital, NPN, PNP, NCC, NOC), connection options (i.a. two-meter standard cable or M12x1 connector) and mounting brackets allow further application compatibility.
The new T30Ux sensors reliably detect even transparent objects, like glass or objects with reflective surfaces. The Ultrasonic based detection principle guarantees accurate and reliable measuring data – whether the object is solid, liquid, metallic or non-metallic – and neither dust nor dirt can harm the sensor. It is even resistant to dirt, spray or washdowns.
