UniversalPegasus International (UPI) has been awarded a contract to supply the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for Repsol Exploración Perú Sucursal del Perú’s first compressor station in Peru, announced Chief Executive Officer Philip Luna. This award was done within the bounds of a previous umbrella agreement that could imply further work for UPI.

UPI’s design will address such diverse challenges as protecting the environmentally sensitive Amazon rainforest and handling a gas stream with exceptionally high natural gas liquids content.

UPI will specify equipment and fabrication designs to optimize size and weight limitations for cargo that can only be moved using barges during the annual, three-month-long flood season. UPI’s Peruvian team will also supply preliminary surveys and geotechnical investigations. Work will be simultaneously done in Houston and near the client’s offices in Peru.
