Produced water treatment and oil and gas separation specialist, Opus, has recently concluded a specialised upgrade project in the North Sea for a major oil and gas operator.
The leading technology and solution provider, which has a base in Guildford and on Flotta, Orkney, has completed the upgrade of the 1st stage separator and dehydrator vessels for Talisman Energy (UK) Limited.
The contract is the second similar project conducted by Opus in 2010 for Talisman. The initial project, completed in 2009, saw Opus complete the design, supply and installation of the new internals for the 1st stage separator and dehydrator in the Montrose Platform’s Train 1.
This most recent project was subsequently awarded to provide the process design, mechanical design, project management and supply of new internals for the upgrade of the similar vessels on the Montrose separation Train 2. The main objective of the upgrade project was to improve separation performance.
Rik Dawson, Opus’ Business Development Manager, commented: “The smooth completion of this project continues to build on Opus’ global reputation for delivering on time and within budget. Opus is committed to our clients’ business success and we are pleased to have provided an excellent service for this major operator.”
