Gassco’s 2012 prize for health, safety and the environment has been awarded to Statoil’s team at the Kollsnes processing plant for a verification scheme on pipe installation and flange tightening.
The award was presented during the evening of 22 October at Gassco’s HSE and quality summit at the Rica Maritime Hotel in Haugesund. It is intended to encourage internal Gassco units and external contractors to pursue positive, innovative and long-term HSE work with the aim of avoiding major accidents.
The verification programme established by Statoil as technical service provider at Kollsnes ensures that all personnel working there with piping and flanges have the necessary expertise. A key role is played in this scheme by a dedicated test rig where employees can practise their skills and check their knowledge before working in a fully operational plant.
