Viking Moorings, a provider of total mooring solutions to the offshore oil and gas industry, has officially opened its new office and warehouse facilities in Kristiansund, Norway. The opening ceremony took place with a number of Viking clients and the Mayor of Kristiansund, Per Kristian Øyen, in attendance.
The new office, which will consist of 90 square meters of office space and 3,500 square meters of internal and external storage space and which will house five staff initially, is in response to the growing demand for Viking’s extensive portfolio of mooring equipment and services in the northern part of the North Sea and beyond. The office will provide marine equipment sales and rental, chain inspection, wire rope services and buoyancy repair services to the oil and gas sector operating in the mid and northern Norwegian sectors. Viking Mooring initially established a Kristiansund office in 2009.
Wolfgang Wandl, CEO of Viking Moorings, continued, “We are delighted to be opening our new office in Kristiansund today – the leading oil & gas city in the north western region of Norway. With our 25 years of experience operating in the North Sea and our offices in Aberdeen, Stavanger and Kristiansund, we are providing not only a total mooring solution but also a highly responsive and local service to our clients when and where they need it.”
He continues, “At a time when the North Sea continues to provide exploration opportunities, we are perfectly positioned to provide mooring solutions, defined by experience, innovation, global reach and safety.”
