Enterprise Products Partners L.P. has completed the installation of two eight-inch diameter pipelines that will increase throughput capacity of natural gas liquids (NGLs) from the partnership’s Norco fractionation facility west of New Orleans to refineries and petrochemical plants in southern Louisiana. One of the pipelines is dedicated to a Garyville, Louisiana refinery and will transport natural gasoline as part of a long-term agreement. The second pipeline will allow Enterprise to increase its delivery of NGLs to the refineries and petrochemical facilities concentrated in the St. Charles Parish area.
“The increased capacity and flexibility resulting from this expansion project complements Enterprise’s existing pipeline infrastructure in the area and enhances our ability to meet the growing industrial demand for reliable supplies of NGLs for feedstock and blending purposes,” said Michael A. Creel, Enterprise president and chief executive officer. “The stability of a long-term contract, combined with additional deliveries of NGLs to meet the increasing demands of local refineries and petrochemical plants along our new pipelines, makes this a strong project with attractive returns for the partnership.”
The Norco fractionation facility has the capability to separate up to 75,000 barrels of NGLs per day and is owned 100 percent by an affiliate of Enterprise. Norco receives mixed NGLs via pipeline from refineries and natural gas processing and fractionation plants located in Texas, southern Louisiana and along the Gulf Coast of Mississippi and Alabama. Included among the facilities that feed Norco are the partnership’s Toca, Yscloskey, Pascagoula and Venice natural gas processing plants. In addition, Enterprise’s Promix and Mont Belvieu NGL fractionation facilities, which can process up to 130,000 barrels per day (BPD) and more than 300,000 BPD, respectively, also deliver products to Norco.
