Sakhalin Energy - LUN-A Platform

Aker Solutions has been awarded contracts from Exxon Neftegas Limited, as operator on behalf of the Sakhalin-1 Consortium, for designing, constructing and delivering the Arkutun-Dagi gravity base structure (GBS) for the Sakhalin-1 project.

The GBS construction will primarily utilise Russian workers, subcontractors, and materials.

Once completed, the GBS will be located offshore Sakhalin Island on the east coast of Russia and will be a part of the drilling and production facilities for the Arkutun-Dagi development, a future phase of Sakhalin-1.

The other participants in the Sakhalin-1 Consortium are SODECO, ONGC Videsh Ltd, and affiliates of Rosneft, Sakhalinmorneftegas-Shelf and RN-Astra.

"I am very pleased that Exxon Neftegas Limited has chosen to work with Aker Solutions on this strategically important project. This is a confirmation of our strategy and ambitions to grow our activities in arctic regions and our competencies, technologies and products related to maintaining our leading edge in concrete technology and to further grow our activities in the Russian Federation", says Mr. Simen Lieungh, President & CEO in Aker Solutions.

For the Sakhalin 1 Arkutun-Dagi GBS, Aker Solutions estimates the total value for services could total USD 600 million over the next three years. Expenditures under the contracts are subject to the Arkutun-Dagi development being fully sanctioned by the Sakhalin-1 Consortium.

Aker Solutions will involve partners and subcontractors, including Russian design institutes, suppliers, and construction companies, in the execution of the project. This execution approach follows the proven Aker Solutions Project Execution Model that enables bringing together Russian and Norwegian resources and expertise in an efficient, cost effective, and optimum manner to serve our clients in the Russian Federation.
