Houston-based equipment maker Tesco Corp. (NASDAQ TESOF) has penned a deal that’ll put its gear on ENSCO offshore rigs, it was heralded Wednesday.

The trademark Casing Driving System will available to the drilling contractor’s oil company clients. Crews of both companies will see to the equipment’s application under a special understanding for the well site.

Safety and performance dividends were cited as extra value as well as the automated running of casing. 
The move counters Norwegian moves, judging by moves from Norway-based companies to get their technology into newbuilds on order at Asian yards.
