Systems integration specialist Hima-Sella has appointed two new Engineering Directors. Nigel Banner has been appointed Engineering Director - Process Safety and Paul Alliott has been appointed Engineering Director - Rail Systems.

Nigel joined Hima-Sella in 1982 and his appointment to Engineering Director - Process Safety comes in recognition of his leadership and management skills. Nigel comments: “In my new role I will lead the further development of the company’s already impressive engineering design standards and I intend to strengthen the professional and uncompromising ‘culture of safety’ within all Hima-Sella departments.”

Nigel is a TÜV-qualified Functional Safety Engineer (FS Eng.) and is a member of Hima-Sella’s Functional Safety Management Team; which is responsible for confirming that the company’s safety systems meet the requirements of IEC 61508 and that only competent personnel are assigned to safety projects.

Paul Alliott, Engineering Director - Rail Systems had previously been working for Hima-Sella on a consultancy basis. He has a wealth of engineering and project management experience, having been involved in a variety of modern UK light rail schemes; managing the overall engineering effort, the safety management processes and/or specific applications. Paul comments: “Hima-Sella has a great reputation in the rail sector and is a growing business. We have several innovative products such as the Integrated Communication Management System [iCMS] and core technologies such as TrackLink III for data transfer. I look forward to developing these products further and seeing their use in other industry sectors and other markets.”
