INTSOK Brings Norwegian Oil and Gas “Stars” to Houston-Body

It is refreshing to see the way that INTSOK, Norwegian Oil and Gas Partners, fits in to the Houston, Texas, community. Houston is a city that prides itself on the size and impact of industries and interests. In February, it hosted the “SuperBowl” and celebrated the stars of American football. In March, the focus has shifted to the Rodeo – the world’s largest – and cowboys have become the local stars. In July, it will be baseball as the 75th Annual All-Star game will come to Houston.

And, how does INTSOK fit into this narrative? In a very real way, the “stars” of the Norwegian Oil and Gas industry have found a home in the city that calls itself “The Space City” because of its focus on the moon and stars (as well as oil and gas).

The INTSOK office is at
2777 Allen Parkway, Suite 1185,
Houston, TX 77019, USA.
Tel: +1 713 807 9451.

Through seminars, conferences and the all-important one-to-one meetings that build relationships and drive business forward, INTSOK provides access for the “stars” of Norwegian Oil and Gas Industry to be welcomed in Houston. INTSOK members enjoy personal access to decision makers within the major oil and gas companies as well as the large independent firms that have become so important in the industry. INTSOK is access – on both sides of the business transaction.

INTSOK member SeaFlex, participant in the September, 2003, INTSOK Pipeline and Riser Workshop offers a fine example of the value realized in bringing the “stars” of the Norwegian Oil and Gas industry in direct contact with major U.S. firms. Mr. Rune Haakonsen, who presented to the Worship on the subject of Risers Analysis and Measurements credits his firm’s appearance in Houston at the INTSOK event as the reason SeaFlex has moved from conversation to contract.

The March 9 & 10 2004 program in Houston serves as a fitting example of the way INTSOK provides access and recognition for Norwegian firms. INTSOK 2004, Gas – The Fuel of the Century: Realizing the Potential of Offshore Gas brings executives and senior managers from Shell, Marathon and the United States Department of Energy together with an array of Norwegian oil and gas industry leaders and specialists.

Since INTSOK members have exceptional experience and success in areas such as subsea technology, gas boosting and the entire LNG value chain, the introduction of experts from Norwegian firms including Aker Kvaerner, Statoil, Det Norske Veritas and FMC Kongsberg Subsea create immediate credibility with US-based firms and allow for discussions to be conducted on the highest professional level.

The Norwegian Continental Shelf has become well-known territory to Norwegian exploration and drilling firms. The technologies that have been developed in Norwegian oil and gas laboratories have set the standard for optimal efficiency in difficult conditions. The result of the intersection of these factors makes the value of INTSOK as intermediary quite high.

With the changing emphasis in world energy, the significance of source and supply of natural gas for the U.S. market reaching into the next 30 years is dramatic. By making the introductions between expert Norwegian firms and the critical planning and decision makers in the U.S. market, INTSOK creates an environment that allows business to develop at the same time that collegial relationships can grow.
