GeoPartners, in partnership with MAGE, Seabird Exploration and DownUnder GeoSolutions, are pleased to announce the acquisition of a new regional multiclient 2D (MC2D) seismic survey entitled North Celtic Sea 2015. This Ireland/UK cross-border project is located mostly in the Irish North Celtic Sea and St Georges Channel.

Acquisition commenced in early July using the MAGE vessel Nikolay Trubyatchinsky (formerly Polar Explorer) - a total survey size of up to 6000 km of long offset broadband data is planned.

This project aims to provide the high quality, extensive, regional data-set which is so lacking in this geophysically challenging area.

With these challenges in mind the acquisition and processing parameters have been carefully chosen. Dip lines have been planned to complement vintage data and a strike-line orientation has been designed to minimise side-swipe from faults.
