Tethys Petroleum Limited declared the appointment of Mr. Julian Hammond to the Board of Directors of Tethys Petroleum Limited. Mr. Hammond has also been appointed as a member of the Executive Board of the Company.

Mr. Hammond joined the Company in 2006 and has served as Chief Commercial Officer and more recently as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Hammond will retain these duties in addition to his new responsibilities as a main board Director of the Company.

Dr. David Robson, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, commented, "I am delighted that Julian has been elected to the Board. He has contributed greatly to the development of the Company's business, particularly over the last year in his role as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. This is an exciting year for Tethys and I am sure that Julian will use his new responsibilities and authority to further progress the activities of the Company in its projects in Central Asia.
