As the world’s known oil and gas reserves are diminishing, the hunt for more is on, and in even more remote places on earth. One such area is the Barents Sea, off the northernmost tip of Norway and neighbouring Russia. Both Norwegian and Russian authorities say the potential for future fossil energy exploration here is enormous, while environmentalists warn of the danger to the fragile Arctic environment.

This annual conference aims to have an update of the recent technology developments, answering questions such as: Who will have access to what and where? What are the opportunities for subcontractors? How will design issues be affected by the rapid climate change we have witnessed in the Arctic?

The conference sessions include:

·         Arctic resources and access for international contractors

·         Concept development for cold regions

·         Environmental loads and weather monitoring

·         Safety & Health, Environment

·         Artic challenges
