Artumas Group has become the toast of Calgary and Oslo by following news of its gas reserves in Tanzania with word that a second well is “hydrocarbon-bearing” in the Mnazi Bay concession.

The Msimbati-1X exploration well reached 6570 feet total depth after crushing through the multiple stacked sandstone of the Middle Miocene age. “Strong indications of hydrocarbons” were found after well logs.

“The Msimbati Prospect is a separate, high amplitude fairway and upon confirmation through drill-stem testing, will be the second hydrocarbon-bearing discovery in the Mnazi Bay concession,” a statement Monday said.
