Devon Energy with Petronas as partner offshore Equatorial Guinea are mulling the cores of mixed results which may yet become a 33-million-barrel oilfield development, it was understood Friday.
One of four recent wells drilled on Block P by the Aleutian Key rig, the sidetrack of well P-2, met two oil layers of 150 feet and 114 ft. and was renamed the Green Sands discovery
Three other wells were met “shale filled tight” sands, nothing movable or oil and gas in thin layers.
Green Sands, however, appears to be ringed by “prospects” identified by seismic, field partner DNO said in a statement.
Atlas and GEPetrol are field stakeholders.
