Halliburton has been awarded a contract by Shell to deliver fluid services on one deepwater rig and one tension leg platform (TLP) in the Gulf of Mexico. Work began in the third quarter of 2009 and includes the delivery of clay-free, high-performance fluid systems that are engineered to address deepwater challenges through improved control of downhole pressures and cold-temperature rheology.

“Halliburton is pleased to have been awarded this contract by Shell,” said Jeff Miller, vice president of Baroid, a Halliburton product service line. “It highlights the strength of our technical professionals and our ability to systematically deliver engineered fluid solutions that are customized to maximize wellbore value.”
