2H Offshore has established a task force to provide guidance to Gulf of Mexico operators on the forthcoming new Minerals Management Service (MMS) requirements for integrity management of infield systems, which are expected towards the end of this year.

The appointment of the team follows increased interest from operators to understand the implications of the new legislation, which also led 2H to hold a series of sessions on the subject since the draft proposals were issued at the end of 2007.

The team comprises some of 2H’s leading integrity management experts who offer considerable knowledge and experience in developing, implementing and operating fully auditable and justifiable integrity management systems.

2H see themselves as the leader in the field of underwater integrity management, and are acknowledged as pioneers in these processes for deep water developments and, in particular, riser systems, where they specialize with almost unique capabilities in design and monitoring. Using this unique project experience, the new task force will focus on helping operators identify gaps in their integrity management plans in order to be ready to comply with the new legislation.

2H’s Ricky Thethi, Vice President, comments, “2H is committed to assisting operators in this region, passing on the learnings from our experience as leaders in the integrity management field. We are grateful for the confidence operators are increasingly placing on us to provide integrity services for their subsea assets. It is heartening to see the importance operators are putting on safety to personnel, the environment and ongoing availability of their assets. 2H’s competency and experience is sought after by an increasing client base, to an extent which has forced 2H to take steps to increase our office capacity further in order to meet increased demand, which goes against the trend in these difficult economic times.”
