ADIL, the independent energy consultancy, has won a £1.8million contract with Bridge Energy ASA to manage the development of the Vulcan East gas field, in the Southern North Sea.

ADIL will provide people and systems to manage all development activities linking a subsea tie-back to existing infrastructure in the vicinity of the field which is located in block 49/21. Vulcan East was discovered in 2006 and Bridge Energy ASA anticipates first gas in the second half of 2011.

The contract was awarded to ADIL in early August and is due to run until end of 2011. Due to the size and scope of the work involved, the company has recruited an additional three personnel, including a project engineer and a process engineer, who will be committed to the project. The project follows on from the successful development of the Victoria field in 2008 for which ADIL provided similar support to Bridge Energy ASA's predecessor Silverstone Energy Ltd.

ADIL's, managing director, James Paton said: 'This contract builds on our longstanding relationship with Bridge Energy ASA and our previous development management work for its fast-track Victoria gas field project. We are finding an increased demand for our services, particularly providing development and operations management support to oil and gas companies. These are exciting times for our small independent consultancy as we look to grow our existing relationships and add to our extensive list of clients.'

Jim Brunton, managing director UK, Bridge Energy ASA said, "We are looking forward to successfully developing the Vulcan East field in 2011. This development project will be key to Bridge Energy ASA's growth. In this regard we are very happy to award this contract to ADIL and to continue to develop the excellent relationship built up with them during our successful Victoria field development in 2008."
