Aker Solutions wins new drilling equipment contract

Aker Kvaerner proposed to change name to Aker Solutions

Aker Solutions has been awarded a drilling equipment contract by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) in Korea for a new semi submersible drilling rig. The total contract value for Aker Solutions is approximately USD 105 million.

The scope of work is to deliver a complete drilling equipment package including installation and commissioning supervision. The semi submersible drilling rig is scheduled for delivery Q2 2011.

"We are extremely proud to have been awarded yet another important contract with Daewoo. This reconfirms Aker Solutions leading position as a successful supplier of complete drilling equipment packages", says Roald Amundsen, President of Aker MH AS.

This contract will be booked as order intake in 3Q 2008.

The contract party is Aker Solutions subsidiary, Aker MH AS
